Take the kids metal detecting with you!
As parents, often times it's difficult to find new and exciting things to do with our kids in this technology age. One of the best things we've heard from our customers is that their kids absolutely love to go out and metal detect with their parents!
Metal detecting is great for the younger generation, you can use it as a tool to teach history, create excitement hunting for treasure, and get some great physical exercise all while spending quality time with your children.
While younger children may not be able to handle full size metal detectors, letting them help with a pinpointer or hand digging tool is a great way to include them in your hobby and let them share the excitement of your finds. we also offer a great selection of cheaper detectors that are really light weight and easy to use for children around 11 and up. The Garrett Ace series would be a fantastic starting point for early teenagers who show a strong interest in metal detecting.
Here's to the next generation of history lovers, treasure hunters and metal detectorists! As always please contact us at any time if you have any questions regarding the products we sell and service we offer. Happy hunting to you and yours from everyone at BBH

MINELAB EQUINOX Series releases in late January 2018
MINELAB EQUINOX 800 and 600 Series Release Date
Since Minelab Metal Detectors first announced the EQUINOX series at Detectival in September, there has been unprecedented market interest in this product range.
Volume production of detectors has started and will continue at a rapid rate across December 2017 and into the new year. Detectors are expected to start to be delivering in late January 2018, subject to supply and shipping dates.
Customers who have pre-ordered detectors should thus expect to start receiving them from late January. No firm dates on when we will be caught up with back orders will be available since it all depends on how many Minelab sends us.
We appreciate everyone’s patience in waiting for EQUINOX to be released and for your ongoing interest.

Use your Metal Detector on Halloween?
Tonight the ghosts and goblins roam the streets on Halloween night in search of the one elusive house that gives out full size candy bars! Dads follow aimlessly behind carrying flash lights and parts of the kids costume as they remove them so they can run even faster to the next house. We Dads pilfer through the candy bag and grab a quick laffy taffy snack to tide us over on the long trip. Moms hand out treats at the door to all the princesses and pirates that venture up in search of sugar treats. They help the one kid that has a ripped candy bag from a prior fall but is still hard at work gathering more loot.
We as metal detectorist have a great tool to ease Mom's mind of candy tampering. We can simply sweep the bag of candy with our metal detector and test for any metal object foul play. Be sure to turn your discrimination all the way down so we can hear anything that might have found its way in the bag. Not to mention we can convince mom how handy a good metal detector is to have around and maybe its time for an even better one! (Good luck with that part)
Enjoy the time with the kiddos tonight and be safe from BBH Metal Detectors!
How does the new Garrett AT MAX do compared to the Garrett AT Pro on the beach?
We get questions all the time on how does the new Garrett AT MAX do on the beach. Customers also want to know how much better it is than their Garrett AT Pro. Below is a great video comparing the two on depth on a salt water beach.
As you can see the depth has definitely increased over the AT Pro. Way to go Garrett Metal Detectors on a new great machine!
Please call 405-206-9010 or email us at Bart@bigboyshobbies.net for better deals on any of the machines we sell! You will be glad you did!
