The Advantage of Having Both Equinox Coils
EQX11 11-Inch Double-D Coil
The EQX11 is the primary all-purpose coil. Its size gives you an effective balance of ground coverage, target separation and depth for parks, fields, beaches and general relic hunting. Most customers will use this coil for the majority of their detecting.
EQX06 6-Inch Double-D Coil
The smaller EQX06 is valuable around old structures, curb strips, playground equipment, dense iron and modern trash. Its compact detection area helps separate nearby targets and allows the coil to reach places where an 11-inch coil feels crowded.
Having both coils in the factory package lets you adjust the physical search footprint—not merely the electronic settings—when a location becomes difficult.

Target Identification and Audio Control
The Equinox 900 divides its identification scale into 119 segments. Ferrous targets occupy the -19 through 0 range, while non-ferrous targets use 1 through 99. The expanded scale gives experienced users more room to observe differences between targets, but no detector can identify every buried object with certainty.
Soil conditions, target depth, orientation, nearby metal and corrosion can all affect identification. The best results come from considering the number together with the audio response, signal repeatability and surrounding conditions.
Available tone choices include 1, 2, 5, All Tones and Depth audio. Separate ferrous volume, tone-region adjustments and Iron Bias settings let you decide how much information you want to hear.
Recovery Speed and Target Separation
Eight recovery-speed levels allow you to balance separation and response characteristics for the location. Faster settings can make individual targets easier to distinguish in dense trash or iron. More moderate settings may provide a fuller response when targets are spaced farther apart.
Recovery speed should not be treated as a simple maximum-performance control. The most effective setting depends on sweep speed, target density, mineralization and the coil being used.
