XP ICON & ICON-X Metal Detectors — Eight Configurations Available
The XP ICON and XP ICON-X are lightweight, waterproof, fully wireless, simultaneous multi-frequency metal detectors designed to deliver proven XP performance with simpler controls and a more accessible price than the DEUS II.
Both models use XP’s FMF® Fast Multi Frequency technology for stable performance on parks, fields, old home sites, beaches, wooded areas, relic sites, mineralized ground, and other changing conditions. They are designed and manufactured in France and work with key components from the XP wireless ecosystem.
Choose Your XP ICON or ICON-X Configuration
XP ICON vs. XP ICON-X
FMF® Simultaneous Multi-Frequency Performance
Both XP ICON models use FMF® Fast Multi-Frequency technology. The detector processes multiple frequencies simultaneously, helping it respond to a wide range of target sizes and conductivities without requiring constant program changes as ground conditions change.
This makes the ICON family a strong all-around choice for coin hunting, jewelry hunting, relic hunting, beach detecting, and searching mineralized or iron-contaminated sites.
Fast Target Separation in Iron
Adjustable reactivity allows the detector to separate nearby targets more effectively. Higher reactivity can help uncover non-ferrous targets surrounded by nails and other iron, while lower settings can provide stronger depth performance in cleaner ground.
The ICON-X offers seven reactivity levels and finer ferrous discrimination adjustment, giving experienced users more control in difficult sites.
Wireless XP Audio with WSA-ST or WSA-XL ST Headphones
The coil, remote control, and compatible XP headphones communicate through XP’s fast proprietary wireless system. This eliminates the cable between the coil and control box and provides quick audio transmission without the noticeable delay associated with ordinary Bluetooth headphones.
The two WSA-ST configurations include XP’s lightweight, compact, foldable wireless stereo headphones.
The two standard WSA-XL ST configurations and both Adventure Packs include full-size wireless stereo headphones for detectorists who prefer a larger headphone design.
The two detector-only configurations can be used through the remote control speaker or paired with compatible XP wireless headphones.
Available audio features include PWM and Square audio profiles, Stereo Audio Morphing, Pitch, 2 tones, 3 tones, 5 tones, and Full Tones.
XP MI-6 Connected Pinpointer in the Adventure Packs
Both Adventure Packs include the XP MI-6 connected pinpointer. The MI-6 helps quickly locate a target after you open the hole or remove a plug, reducing recovery time and helping you avoid unnecessary digging.
When connected to a compatible XP detector, the MI-6 can use the detector’s wireless audio system and provide access to additional pinpointer settings through the remote control.
XP 240 Backpack and XP Pouch
The included XP 240 Backpack provides a convenient way to carry and organize your detector and detecting equipment while traveling to a site or walking longer distances.
The included XP Pouch gives you a dedicated place to carry recovered coins, jewelry, relics, trash, and small detecting tools while you hunt.
Ultra-Lightweight, Telescopic Design
The XP ICON series is built for comfortable all-day detecting. The telescopic stem folds to approximately 58 centimeters and extends to approximately 130 centimeters for easy transport and adjustment.
The ICON uses XP’s S-Telescopic Lite stem, while the ICON-X upgrades to a version with a carbon middle section. Both models allow the remote control to be removed from the stem for an even lighter feel while swinging.
Waterproof for Beaches and Shallow Water
The XP ICON and ICON-X can be configured for underwater use down to approximately 5 meters or 16 feet. They are well suited for wet sand, shallow water, rain, muddy fields, and other demanding outdoor conditions.
Important underwater note: Full underwater use requires XP’s optional BH-02 bone-conduction headphones and the proper underwater waveguide setup. Standard wireless headphones do not transmit normally while submerged.
Expandable XP Wireless Ecosystem
The ICON range is compatible with key components from XP’s proven wireless ecosystem, allowing you to expand or customize your detector over time.
- Compatible XP DEUS II FMF search coils
- XP HF2 high-frequency FMF coil
- XP MI-6 connected pinpointer
- Compatible XP wireless headphones
- XP Go Terrain smartphone app
- Optional BH-02 underwater bone-conduction headphones
