MINELAB EQUINOX SOFTWARE UPDATE 3.0! 4khz added?

A new Single Frequency of 4 kHz has been added for the Minelab Equinox 600 and Minelab Equinox 800 to add to the existing 5, 10, 15, 20, and 40 kHz options. This new 4 kHz frequency enhances the detection of large deep targets, particularly those found in parts of Asia. As a result of optimizing for these conditions, this new frequency may respond differently to users compared to the other single frequencies.

All other single and multi-frequency settings are unchanged in their performance.

Important Information from White's Electronics going out of business.

June 18, 2020
To our valued White's Dealers- This is a very difficult message to write, but the time has come for retirement from White's Electronics. We are suspending manufacturing operations at our Sweet Home facility while we re-evaluate the future of the company. It is never easy to make these decisions, however, we are faced with the reality of intense competition in the industry and ongoing counterfeit instruments coming from China. Lastly, there have been critical material shortages since the Covid 19 shutdown that we now find insurmountable. All of us here in Sweet Home are grateful for your service. We consider each you part of the White's extended family.
Sincerely, Ken White

Top 4 Metal Detecting Tips For Beginners
We spend a lot of time giving out useful tips and info to our established metal detector community, today's post will be dedicated to the beginner detectorist, to the person with gold fever who's just bought his first metal detector and wants to strike it big or to the next generation of metal detectorists who are coming of age in our wonderful hobby!
Tip 1: Permission! always make sure wherever you detect that it is allowed, legal and you have permission! the last thing you want to happen on your first outing is to get in trouble for detecting somewhere you shouldn't be. If your starting from scratch, local parks and sports fields are an ideal place to get a feel for your new metal detector. check your local and state park website for information on what is and isn't allowed. Most parks are fine with metal detecting, but always make sure before heading out. never try and metal detect on private property if you do not have permission from the land owners!
Tip 2: Gear. Make sure your always ready to recover the finds you hit. A good digging tool like the lesche hand digger and a pinpointer like the AT pro pointer can cut finding and recovery times in half. Along with the tools, a comfortable backpack and plenty of water will also be needed, metal detecting can become incredibly engaging, remember to stop, rest and hydrate!
Tip 3: Shoes! A lot of newer metal detectorists, especially new ones forget the importance of good footwear! if your going out into the woods, or scouring a large sports field, the last thing you want is achy feet! Hiking boots work incredibly well for metal detecting but whatever you wear, make sure its comfy and can keep you on your feet for several hours at a time, you're going to be doing a lot of walking, don't forget the correct footwear!
Tip 4: Have fun! While most season detectorists have learned their machines to become a part of them, new detectorists have a lot of practice to become one with their machine. You will dig up every scrap, piece of junk and penny you hit for quiet some time but the more you practice, the more you learn the tones and frequencies of finds, adding discrimination and digging better tones will help you avoid most of the trash thats waiting to be dug up and help you focus on better, and even more valuable finds. The learning process is often quick, but have fun, dig up everything and learn your machine as you become more familiar with it!
If you have any questions or would like any info on any of the metal detectors or accessories we sell, please don't hesitate to contact us, we're always around and happy to help. Happy hunting!
Spring has sprung, Family metal detecting adventures await!

The obvious first tip is to metal detect parks! If they don't enjoy swinging your machine, or digging the signals they get to play on the swings! we've found that most kids are very eager to get into the historical side of metal detecting, finding old coins or relics can often intrigue the younger generation, what better way to introduce your kids to history than with a great find for the collection!
Our second tip is to go prepared and make a day of it! Bring a picnic and drinks, teach your kids to not get discouraged if your not finding things and perseverance is key to a successful metal detecting trip!
The third tip is a bit of a cheat, but bring and find something of historical significance or with an interesting background! what better way to get them excited than by starting the day with a great find full of excitement and wonder of what the next find could possibly be.
Metal detecting with the family can be a great excuse to get outdoors and get some exercise and sunshine, while teaching some exciting lessons in history and the technology your using and it doesn't even need to be expensive! You can take your prospecting to new depths with White’s XGB ground balance system. The GMX Sport brings a new generation of VLF detection technology, with features that any detectorist, rookie or veteran, will love.
Starting with the industry-standard 48kHz operating frequency, White’s packed all the necessities into one waterproof package to help you find gold. Some of the best treasure ever found with a metal detector!
Detectorists from all over the world continue to find epic treasures, buried from humans for decades, sometimes even centuries - here's a handful of some of the greatest finds ever dug up by amateur hobbyists:
Derek Mclennans massive haul of over 100 items in Scotland back in 2014 was hailed as the countries most significant metal detecting find ever, consisting of a ninth century solid silver cross, a silver pot, lots of gold objects, an incredibly rare silver cup and more that dated back to the roman empire. He was awarded approximately $2.5 Million for the find and the haul now lives in the museum.

In July 2009 Terry Herbert was detecting some farmland close to his home in Staffordshire in the English countryside when he came ac cross a massive hoard of gold, enough to fill over 344 bags worth! This triggered a full archaeological expedition which lead to over 3500 significant pieces representing hundreds of complete and intact objects! The haul was dated to anglo-saxon times and was valued at a cool $5.3 million. The find has since been written about in the famous book: The Staffordshire Hoard: An anglo-Saxon Treasure.
Mike Demar was diving off the coast in key west back in 2008, he presumed he was clearing more trash off the floor but when he removed the sediment he discovered nearly a pound of gold in the form of an old chalice, approximately 385 years old which came from an old Spanish ship - the Santa Margarita which sank back in 1622, The gold was valued at a whopping $1 Million!
There are so many stories like this scattered through our hobbies history, next time you see that detectorists scouring the beach, or gearing up in the parking lot read to hit an old park or church, think of the treasure they could be about to unearth! What is a Minelab Multi-IQ Metal Detector?
Not all things are created equal, you know that. New technology, new experiences, new frontiers and now you get to master them all.
Metal detectors used to work on a single frequency so that typically you could only a limited range of metals at one time. Small coins, fine jewelry and gold. lf you imagine a flash light that lit up only one color that's what you have. Then Minelab Multi-IQ got better and switchable multi-frequency protectors came about so you could find different types of treasure but you needed to know in advance what you were looking for. So you would have to manually switch our flash light to different colors before you could find our treasure. Good if you were psychic but not so effective for the rest of us. Now we have Minelabs Multi-IQ revolutionary technology. Running a simultaneous multi frequency detector that now can find any metal in any soil, anytime.
Minelabs imaginary multi IQ flashlight now lets us see the entire range of color. Every type of metal at one time. That is Minelabs multi IQ technology. No more digging around in the dark. You just seen into the future of metal Detecting. Affordable, effective, ingenious!
Minelabs Multi-IQ...... All metals....... all soils......... all the time!
Minelab, performance is everything.
